The school and indeed the surrounding areas were greatly shocked at the tragic death of Niall Higgins following a traffic accident.  Niall had spent all his secondary school days in Drumshanbo Vocational School.  At his funeral, students and staff provided a guard of honour.  Below is a photo of a memorial created for Niall.
