As part of the Recreation & Leisure module the LCA class spent Tuesday May 16th  in the Eagle Flying bird sanctuary, Ballymote, County Sligo.  This is Ireland's biggest sanctuary for birds of prey and owls.

The students experienced birds such as eagles, hawks, falcons and owls flying in their natural habitat.  During the free-flying demonstrations students gathered interesting information about various birds, their eating habits and how they play an important role in nature.

The sanctuary also housed animals such as sheep, goats, donkeys, rabbits, chickens, ducks and guinea pigs.  The students thoroughly enjoyed the day not letting the rain dampen their spirits.
